Originally issued in 14 monthly pts., Feb. 1839-Mar. 1840. Each pt. represents scenes from a different Macready production and consists of 3 plates; pt. [14] also contains t.p., 2 leaves of letterpress (dedication and artist's "Address") and an additional plate depicting a dinner honoring Macready.
Illustrations: 44 prints (incl. t.p.) : etching ; full-page. By George Scharf; some signed "G.S." or "G.S. jun." Title page ill. is repeated on covers of pts.
Parts issue: Each pt. (no.) in illustrated red brown paper covers. Artist's "Address" (prospectus) on p. [3] or [4] of covers.
