- A meeting convened by the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This program features an interview with Dr. Anna Arnold Hedgeman, prominent black author, consultant, and educator. This outstanding 70 year old woman relives her dynamic life and career and summarizes important aspects of the black experience during the 20th Century struggle for racial equality. Dr. Hedgeman relates the his ory and stories of the famous blacks, their accomplishments, contributions to this country, and her friendships with them. Included also is a description of her participation in the Harry Truman presidential campaign, and his leadership in showing concern for the minority situation in this country. She comments too on the various traditional black stereotypes.
