- A meeting sponsored by the Midwest Universities Consortium for International Activities and The Land Tenure Center - The University of Wisconsin - Madison. This program examines the current black struggle against racism in Africa. It deals with the important developments which are now occurring in Africa, the efforts for social change and reclamation of black African sovereign rights, events leading to the African independence movement, violence as the solution to these problems, the influence of world public opinion in these matters, the affects of the Portugese Empire collapse in Africa, the impact of the Vietnam War, the degree to which black Africans are prepared to govern, some realities of America's relationship to the African countries, the importance of Africa's natural resources, the need for the U. S. to develop new strategies with respect to these countries, and the problem of South Africa.
