- A meeting sponsored by the National Urban League - Central Regional Office. This program focuses on the National Urban League. Areas covered include the origin, history, and goals of the Urban League, some of its greatest achievements, as interracial and professionally staffed, local League autonomy, inclusion of other minority groups, desirability of Black and Hispanic coalition, race as a continuing problem in this country, the shifting national attitute toward race, possibility of future riots and other means of protest, Urban League membership and financial resources, efforts to open up job and educational opportunities, relationship with Jewish organizations and areas of tension, attitutde toward the PLO and international issues, the issue of Affirmative Action, the Andrew Young situation, and the issue of numerical goals and timetables.
