- Tom Whaley, a pianist, writer and copier, speaks of his life in music and about his career with the Ellington band which has stretched off and on since 1941. He tells us about some musicians he has met, and gives us his idea of what a musician should be. We also hear Tom Whaley play the piano, and Willy "The Lion" Smith play in contrast to Whaley.
