Summary
James Boggs traces the rapid development of the Black labor movement in the auto industry and attributes this growth to the new mood of Blacks which followed World War II, to increased automation, and to the general Black revolt against white racist management and union structure, as well as to realization of the power to make the auto plant relevant to the needs of Black men and women.
