NYPL copy, with title page and colophon as above, apparently made up from 2 or more editions; contains 66 leaves ([132] p., the last leaf blank) with signatures (many altered in ink) reading: A-G⁸ H¹⁰ (probably actually assembled as A-F⁸ G¹⁰ H⁸; many leaves repaired or mounted on hinges at inner margin, and original conjugacy cannot be determined). Pages [5-38] from 1566 or later ed. Pages [71-74] supplied from an unknown ed. of: Arte subtilisima por la qual se enseña a escreuir perfectamente / hecho ... por Juan de Yciar Vizcayno (first issued 1550).

Mounted on 21 leaves following last leaf of NYPL copy: portions of James Hepburn's Virga aurea septuaginta duobus encomiis cœlata (engraving by P. Thomassinus, Rome, 1616, with text in Latin and Hebrew and 72 alphabets and emblems); engr. Arabic alphabet by S. Hubert, 1601, and engr. leaf of pictorial characters. At end: [4] p. of ms. (Spanish translations of French essays on penmanship topics).
