Charles I, King of Spain (afterwards Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor) requests Cardinal Jiménez de Cisneros, regent of the Castilian kingdoms, and Adrian of Utrecht, Dean of Louvain (Adriaan Floriszoon Boeyens, afterwards Pope Adrian VI), the King's ambassador in Spain, to reward Gonzalo Fernández de Oviedo y Valdés, inspector of gold foundries in Castilla del Oro, i.e. the isthmus of Panama (afterwards Cronista general de las Indias) for services to Spain in the New World; sending Oviedo's Memorial.
On verso: Address to Cardinal Cisneros and the Dean of Louvain; endorsement: "De xxviij de junio enfauor del vehedor de Castilla del oro"; traces of seal.
