• "The type faces are Romanée for the text, Solemnis for display. The ancient language characters for decorating the heads of text pages are those of countries and tribes in the Israel area when the Old Testament was compiled: for Jonah, Sumerian; Judith, Jacobites of Syria; Ruth, Hebrew. The all-rag paper was handmade at the Twinrocker Mill, Indiana, and was printed damped on our Albion handpress, built in 1882 by D & J Greig Company of Edinburgh, Scotland. The brown cover paper is Roma, handmade at the Fabriano Mill, Italy. The hinged boxes are covered with a fabric imported from Paris especially for this edition; the boxes were made by Cardoza-James Binding Company, San Francisco. The text is based on The modern reader's Bible, edited by Richard D. [that is, G.] Moulton, Ph.D.; and also, The Cambridge Authorized Version, 1611. Designed, and produced entirely by hand by Lewis and Dorothy Allen"--Page 5.
• Consists of 14 bifolia arranged in gatherings of 2 to 6 leaves each. Blank leaf, not counted in collation, follows page 6.
• The illustrations are reproductions of drawings, printed in black on light gray paper; ornaments at head of each page of text, printed in dark brown, blue and green, are composed of characters from ancient languages. Text printed in black and orange.

• Issued unbound, in brown paper covers, gilt, in orange cloth covered case (30 cm.), gilt.
• Bound for Maggy Magerstadt Rosner by Monique Lallier; signed at foot of front doublure. Brown morocco, with onlays of dark orange and blue morocco; gilt fillets; gilt title on spine; reddish-brown morocco doublures. Flap on front board opens to reveal a sheet of dark orange Japanese paper, painted, cut and perforated, with stenciled title, background of gold on inside of flap revealed through cutouts and perforations.
