Cicely Tyson discusses her acting career and why, at the risk of never working again, she chose not to work in "blaxploitation" films of the late 1960's, early 70's. Tyson goes on to talk about her roles in Sounder, The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman and Roots and mentions her involvement in the founding of the Dance Theatre of Harlem.
