Summary

Edith Harris reports on black universities and their declining enrollment, specifically at Southern University and Grambling State University in Louisiana. Harris explains why enrollment has been decreasing; the failure of students at these two universities to pass the National Teachers Exam; how the state funds the universities and the effect decreased enrollment has on this funding; the migration of black student athletes to white universities with better funded athletic programs; and the future of Southern University and Grambling State University. This five part series aired over five consecutive evenings during the Action-3 news.
