[45].Spencer Copy : Binding, by Jean de Gonet, 1984, of ebony (10 vertical slats on each cover, decreasing in width from spine to fore-edge), etched to form a pattern in gray; inlaid russet leather label on front cover, ruled in blind and black and lettered in black; spine of gray leather, with 4 exposed cords extending into covers; gray snakeskin-patterned leather semicircles decorated with nailheads around the 2 central cords on covers. Doublures and end leaves of light brown suede (doublures over black morocco). Original paper covers and backstrip bound in. In chemise of half light brown leather and gray paper boards, lined in dark brown suede, and gray paper-covered fleece-lined slipcase trimmed in black morocco and light brown leather.Print Collection copy (*C-2 p.v. 395): No. 210 of 900.
