- "The principal use of the paper [long tʼo fuk chi] was wrapping for groceries, particularly cakes, candies and tobacco": p. [105].
- First publication of the author's thesis (M.S.--Ohio State University, 1928). Added are the paper samples he had collected for eventual inclusion in a published version of the thesis and other illustrative matter from his archives.
- Samples comprise paper made from bamboo, paper mulberry, mulberry, edgeworthia, rice straw and waste paper. Included are 5 samples of ceremonial paper, 3 of decorated paper, one of gold leaf paper, one of waterproofed paper, a lottery ticket and a cross-section of the wood from which paper sizing is made.
- Laid in is a folded facsim. of p. 11-12 of the South China morning post for Apr. 12, 1932, the original sheet having been part of the newspaper wrappings found on the author's paper samples.
- Binding, publisher's, by Gray Parrot, of quarter black morocco and strawberry pink paper boards.
