Summary

Portraits of baseball pitcher Leroy "Satchel" Paige. Collection includes numerous views of Paige pitching, seated in the dugout, and meeting fellow players and athletes such as Roy Campanella, Althea Gibson, Bob Feller, Sugar Ray Robinson, Pete Robinson, Joe Louis, Wally Holborow, Henry Armstrong and Josh Gibson. There are views of La Guardia attending games, and of Paige's wife, LaHoma. Also included are images of Paige's airplane, Paige having his hair cut and his plaque at the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Full and half length portraits are available.
