Summary

Views of lawyer, civil rights activist and National Urban League President Vernon Jordan. Collection includes individual studio portraits; also Jordan seen at a variety of events including those sponsored by the National Urban League and the National Urban Coalition with many presentation ceremonies; with the NAACP at the White House; at a Bobby Kennedy Memorial dinner; and other unidentified events. In these group portraits Jordan is seen with Kate Millet, Robert E. James, Stephen N. Lockett, Jacqueline Onassis, Jamaican Prime Minister Michael Manley, Carl Holman, Maynard Jackson, Martha "Bunny" Mitchell, Stanley S. Scott, Nobel Prize winner Dr. James Watson, Herbert H. Wright, Dorothy Height, Gerald Ford and Paula Giddings. Collection also includes a portrait of Jordan's mother Mary.
