Summary

Portraits of members of the Southern Grimke family. Includes portraits of Presbyterian Minister Francis J. Grimke, with one of him as a youth with his brother Archibald H. Also individual views of civil rights leader, lawyer and author Archibald H. One view of abolitionist Angelina Grimke, aunt of Francis and Archibald, and a portrait of Francis J.'s wife, Charlotte Forten. Full and quarter length images are represented.
