Summary
Collection consists of views of religious leader Major J. "Father" Divine (born George Baker), including an individual portrait of Father Divine (n.d.); a photomechanical reproduction of an illustrated portrait of him (n.d.); in group portraits with his young wife, Mother Divine, at home (1960) and in anniversary celebrations (1951 and 1954); at home eating dinner (n.d.); and with a group of his followers, walking along the Hudson River on his Krum Elbow estatein New York, with a ferryboat in the background (n.d.). Also depicted are views of a shoe shine parlor in New York City, operated by disciples of Father Divine (1949), and the front of Divine's Universal Peace Mission Headquarters in Harlem (1936).
