- Summary
- Portrait of American Revolutionary War-era tavern owner Samuel Fraunces and views of his establishment, Fraunces Tavern, in New York City. Collection consists of an exterior view of the tavern as it appeared in the 1960s; photographic reproductions of a portrait of Samuel Fraunces and a view of the tavern that were created by the Negro History Associates in the 1960s for an educational film; and a photographic reproduction of an oil painting depicting Fraunces's daughter, Pheobe, saving General George Washington from an assassination attempt.
