  • Claude Jones was a jazz trombonist who played with musicians Fletcher Henderson, Don Redmond, Cab Calloway, Coleman Hawkins, Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington, and Alma Jones was the first African-American public school teacher in Massillon, Ohio.

Biography
Claude Jones was a jazz trombonist who played with musicians Fletcher Henderson, Don Redmond, Cab Calloway, Coleman Hawkins, Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington, and Alma Jones was the first African-American public school teacher in Massillon, Ohio. Claude Jones later worked as a steward on the S.S. United States.
