- Summary
- Portraits of songwriter, bandleader and entertainer Noble Sissle. Includes a candid view of Sissle with actress and model Sarah Lou Harris at a prize drawing; a group portrait of Sissle with Richard R. Miller, of the Museum of the City of New York, and sculptor Estella V. Wright with her bust of Sissle; a group portrait of Sissle with music critic Nora Holt and others; a group portrait of Sissle with entertainers Josephine Baker, Flournoy E. Miller and Edgar Battles during a United Service Organizations (U.S.O.) European tour revival of "Shuffle Along," in Brussels, Belgium (ca. 1945); and candid views of Sissle in military attire, probably during the U.S.O. tour (ca. 1945). Full, half and quarter length portraits are included.
