- Summary
- The CEBA Collection consists of submitted entries to the CEBA Awards competition, an annual competition which began in 1978. Entries were solicited from the advertising agencies and corporate marketing arenas. Yearly, all creative work published, displayed or broadcast in the previous year are eligible. The categories include print materials, radio recordings, and television and cable programming, primarily on videotape.

- The World Institute of Black Communications (WIBC) was established in 1978 by the National Black Network to broaden opportunities in the communications industry for African Americans. They sponsor programs designed to encourage a standard of excellence in African American communications and develop activities which will promote public recognition in support of these goals. The CEBA Awards, an acronym for Communications Excellence to Black Audiences, is the principal program administered by WIBC.

- The World Institute of Black Communications (WIBC) was established in 1978 by the National Black Network to broaden opportunities in the communications industry for African Americans. They sponsor programs designed to encourage a standard of excellence in African American communications and develop activities which will promote public recognition in support of these goals. The CEBA Awards, an acronym for Communications Excellence to Black Audiences, is the principal program administered by WIBC.With increasing awareness of the importance of the African American consumer market to the American economy, a growing number of corporations have created advertising and marketing campaigns specifically designed to communicate with the African American consumer. Recognizing the importance of this trend, WIBC established the CEBA Awards.Since 1978, CEBA Awards have been presented to advertising agencies, corporations, television stations and individuals for the most creative, relevant and professionally executed media efforts for the previous year in television, cable, radio and print. The CEBA Awards are designed to honor those advertising agencies, advertisers and individuals whose creative work combines excellence and innovation with sensitivity for the needs and concerns of the African American community.
