Local Note
The Schomburg Center's Manuscripts, Archives & Rare Book Division's copy is a gift acquired or added to the Schomburg collection (April 20, 1939 -- G.K. Halls) when Catherine A. Latimer and Lawrence Reddick were the collection librarian & Curator. Imperfect: disbound, lacks the NYPL's bookplate of "Arthur A. Schomburg Negro Collection," that's associated with books from that period, treated, each leaves encapsulated or reinforced with Japanese tissue paper, rebound in blue cloth over boards library binding, and gilt spine; and it has the 1940 onward NYPL's bookplate of: "The Schomburg Collection of Negro Literature and History." Also available on microfilm, Schomburg Center's researchers restricted to the microform copy in Sc Micro R-803 [pt. 1].
