- Local Note
- The Schomburg Center's Manuscripts, Archives & Rare Book Division's copy is a gift, probably one of the items added to the collection when Catherine A. Latimer was the Collection librarian and Lawrence Reddick was the Curator. It includes NYPL's bookplate of "Arthur A. Schomburg Negro Collection," no NYPL's perforated stamp or ink stamp, but has early processing marking of the original collection. Library bound in brown cloth over boards with original publisher's avocado green printed paper wrappers and a gilt spine.
