The Schomburg Center Manuscripts, Archives & Rare Book Division's copy include stamps of: "Division of Negro Literature and History;" "Property of the City of New York;" and "The New York Public Library: Circulation Department, 135 Street Branch, 103 West 135th St." with accession no. G04355 in ink and stamp on several parts of the book, which indicate this item is a pre-1926 gift. Lacks original covers and "Reference Collection of Negro Literature" bookplates which usually accompany the pre-1926 collection. Reclassified, from 304 to 266; bound in library binding, with additional blank pages in the back in blue cloth over boards, and gilt spine; which show that this item has been rebound and added to the collection probably between 1926 and 1932, during Catherine A. Latimer, as curator and librarian years.
