The copy in the Manuscripts, Archives & Rare Book Division of the Schomburg Center is a pre-1926 gift transferred to the Schomburg collection when Catherine A. Latimer was the collection librarian. However, G.K. Hall's entry for this item includes a cataloging date of "March 10, 1944," which indicates that this item may have been cataloged late or re-cataloged during Lawrence Reddick's tenure as curator. It includes NYPL's bookplate of Reference Collection of Negro Literature, as well as various stamps like: "Division of Negro Literature and History;" Property of the City of New York;" and "The New York Public Library: Circulation Department, 135 Street Branch, 103 West 135th St." which indicate, this item was originally part of of the 135 Street Branch's Circulation Department. It also includes early processing marking of the original collection and NYPL's perforated stamp or seal; it's library bound in hunter green cloth over boards and gilt spine.
