Summary
In four segments broadcast during the news program, Todd Shearer examines the sit-ins of the 1960s and the current struggle of African Americans against bias and for economic well-being. Segregated restaurants and lunch counter sit-ins are recalled along with a look at a current black owned restaurant; Todd Shearer interviews the president of the local chapter of the N.A.A.C.P. about the availability of loans for black owned businesses; an interview with actor Blair Underwood about his role in "Murder in Mississippi" and racism; an anniversary celebration at the famous Woolworth lunch counter in Greensborough, N.C.
