Family background, experiences with segregated south; elementary and secondary education; first interest in sciences, move toward medical career; choice of Meharry Dental School and experiences there; move to Sydenham Hospital in N.Y., work for Neighborhood Family Health Care Center, 125th St.; reasons for getting master's degree in public health; hope for Harlem Hospital's Dept. of Dentistry's affiliation with Columbia University. Philosophy of dental care - cosmetic, nutritional, economic; new Dept. of Dentistry at Harlem Hospital - establishment and treatment goals; care of teeth; cost of care at dental clinic of Harlem Hospital and its operation; American Dental Association compared with National Dental Association; tooth care recommendations; personal hobbies.
