• Contains 24 leaves of music by Virgil Thomson (facsims. of holograph scores, reproduced offset by John Hutcheson from negatives made by Gail Alt) and 18 prints by Maurice Grosser.
• Consists of 20 bifolia and 6 sheets. All but the first and last bifolium contain a musical portrait on verso of first leaf and a graphic portrait on recto of second leaf; subject's name (reproduced from calligraphy by Jerry Kelly) on recto of first leaf. Some musical portraits are continued on inserted sheets (1 each in 2nd-5th bifolia and 2 in 7th bifolium).
• First bifolium (leaves [1-2], printed on both sides) contains t.p. (reproduced from calligraphy by Jerry Kelly) and letterpress prefaces (Thomson on Grosser and Grosser on Thomson); last bifolium contains colophon and copyright notices.
• Illustrations: 18 prints : lithograph, b&w ; full-page. Printed at Bob Blackburn's Printmaking Workshop, New York, by Jennifer Lynch, Agnes Murray and Holly Sears. Each numbered 29/120 and initialed in pencil M.G.
• Issued unbound, in bright blue Tussah silk covered case, lined in silver gray Ganryo Hikizome paper, by Gérard Charrière and Carol Joyce.
