Local Note
The Schomburg Center's Manuscripts, Archives & Rare Book Division's copy is one of the items added to the collection when Catherine A. Latimer was the Collection Librarian; & Lawrence Reddick was the Curator. It includes NYPL's bookplate of "Arthur A. Schomburg Negro Collection," NYPL's perforated stamp, and early processing markings of the original Schomburg Collection. Bound in red cloth over boards, library binding, and gilt spine, with a library bounding date stamped: "Dec. 9, 1940."-- page [3] of cover. It also contains some illegible manuscript inscriptions in ink & graphite.
