- The copy in the Manuscripts, Archives & Rare Book Division of the Schomburg Center is a pre-1926 gift that was part of the 135 Street Branch, Circulation Department; It includes ink stamps of: Division of Negro Literature and History; Property of the City of New York; and The New York Public Library: Circulation Department, 135 Street Branch, 103 West 135th St. Its a duplicate from the main 42nd Street library transferred to the Schomburg collection when Catherine A. Latimer was the Collection Librarian. It also includes processing ink stamps from the main library such as: "Duplicate," accession #376380A, and "The New York Public Library: Astor, Lenox and Tilden Foundation." It also contains an NYPL bookplate of the "Arthur A. Schomburg Negro Collection," early processing markings of the original Schomburg Collection, and NYPL perforated stamps. Library bound in red cloth over boards and a gilt spine.
