Local Note
The Schomburg Center's Manuscripts, Archives & Rare Book Division has two copies of this book. Copy in Sc Rare 326.1-F (accession no. E365033) is an (October 30, 1945) addition to the collection when Catherine A. Latimer and Lawrence Reddick were the Collection Librarian & Curator; according to G.K. Halls, v. 3, page 2606, column 1, row 1). It includes NYPL's bookplate of "Arthur A. Schomburg Negro Collection" and the NYPL's perforated stamp. Imperfect: it lacks the frontispiece, bound in navy blue buckram cloth over boards, Library binding, and gilt spine.
Copy in Sc Rare D 20-6 (Lapidus Collection) is a gift, which is part of the Lapidus Collection added to the Schomburg collection in 2020. Lapidus Collection copy has a frontispiece, a folding hand-colored map or: "Plan shewing the countries between Sierra Leone and Liberia: whose Sovereigns signed the anti-slave-trade treaty." Bound in aged avocado green buckram with a gilt design.
