Biography (note)
  • Translated by Samuel Adjai Crowther, a Yoruba who had been rescued from slavery in his childhood, trained by the Church Missionary Society and ordained in 1843. He became Bishop of the Niger in 1864. In 1848 he published a primer, which contained a few Scripture passages.

Biography
