- Local Note
- The Schomburg Center Manuscripts, Archives & Rare Book Division has three copies of this pamphlet; copy 1 in Sc Rare 326.1-U (United States. Dept. of State. Message from the President. 1824) (accession # K118387) is probably a post-Lawrence Reddick addition to the Schomburg collection. It includes NYPL's bookplate of "Arthur A. Schomburg Negro Collection" and "Sc 4968" ink stamp but lacks the NYPL perforated stamp and early processing markings of the original Schomburg Collection; the pamphlet may have been treated and rebound in brown cloth over boards library binding with additional blank pages at the back; and gilt spine. The other copies, Sc Rare E 17-9 (Lapidus Collection) & Sc Rare E 18-3 (Lapidus Collection), are gifts which are part of the Lapidus Collection added to the Schomburg collection in 2017 & 2018; Imperfect: disbound, aged stained, and housed in a commercially made 4-flap archival binder.
