Local Note

The two volumes in Sc Rare 326.4F-F (Frossard, B. S. Cause des esclaves n̈gres) are originally part of the Circulation Department reference collection. They are pre-1926 gifts, added to the Schomburg collection when Catherine A. Latimer was the collection librarian. It includes stamps of: "Division of Negro Literature and History;" Property of the City of New York;" and "The New York Public Library: Circulation Department, 135 Street Branch, 103 West 135th St." They include NYPL's bookplates of the "Arthur A. Schomburg Negro Collection," perforated stamps, and early processing markings of the original Schomburg Collection. They are library rebound in red cloth over boards and a gilt spine.
