- The copy in the Manuscripts, Archives & Rare Book Division of the Schomburg Center is a pre-1926 gift transferred to the Schomburg collection when Catherine A. Latimer was the collection librarian. It's originally part of the 135 Street Branch, Circulation Department, and it includes ink stamps of: "Division of Negro Literature and History;" Property of the City of New York" and "The New York Public Library: Circulation Department, 135 Street Branch, 103 West 135th St." Its library-bound in blue cloth over boards, with its original soft printed paper whrappers, and a gilt spine. It contains an "Arthur A. Schomburg Negro Collection" bookplate but lacks the NYPL perforated stamp and any other stamps or processing markings of the original Schomburg Collection.
