Local Note
The Schomburg Center Manuscripts, Archives & Rare Book Division possesses two copies of this book. They are both gifts. Copy 1 in Sc Rare 326.1-R (Ramsay, J. Objections to the abolition. 2d ed.) (accession # G222791) is December 22, 1942 addition to the Schomburg collection according to G.K. Hall v. 7, page 6326, column 3, row 7, when Catherine A. Latimer and Lawrence Reddick were the collection librarian & Curator. This copy may have been re-accession from an E591542 to G222791. It includes NYPL's bookplate of "Arthur A. Schomburg Negro Collection," NYPL's perforated stamp, and the "star" symbol ink stamp. Imperfect: bound in library binding, black cloth over boards, and gilt spine. With a Nov. 9, 1945, binding date stamp.
Copy 2 also, in Sc Rare 326.1-R (Ramsay, J. Objections to the abolition. 2d ed.) (accession # G298509), is probably also one of the gifts added to the Schomburg collection when Catherine A. Latimer and Lawrence Reddick were the collection librarian & Curator. It contains an NYPL bookplate of: "Arthur A. Schomburg Negro Collection"; early processing markings of the original Schomburg Collection, but lacks the NYPL perforated stamp. The half-title page of this copy has {28}Williams Roth from his [&] very affectionate and truly attach son Benj. Roth
