- Views of the aftermath of the earthquake and fire in San Francisco, 1906: includes street views; views of ruptured pavement, gutted buildings, wooden homes leaning precariously, cable cars burned down to their chasis, an auto left wrecked in the middle of a street; dynamiting wrecked buildings, pulling down damaged walls and clearing rubble; people in relief camps, including some run by Jim Forrest, camps at Golden Gate and Columbia parks, and one at Ft. Mason; a relief boat loading potatoes in Oakland; a woman wearing men's clothing after losing everything; makeshift businesses, including restaurants in the street, a barber in a relief camp; people "searching for treasures" in the ruin of the Crocker home; people heading out of town with their few belongings; a man painting the ruined city hall.
