- Newburyport and vicinity: general view showing church, businesses, water beyond; street views showing homes, businesses, showing street deep in snow, one showing sleigh, a parade, street thronged buggy and wagon traffic; businesses including a small store, a large commercial block; homes, including the "Swasey mansion," a home near chain bridge, toll house visible at left, churches: a large wood frame church with 2 front doors, Old South Church; the public library; gates to Oak hill cemetery; courthouse and mall; Putnam Free School, pupils posing in front; fire station, steam pumper out front; ice house on turnpike; "Four Rock" bridge over little river, local swimming hole; Essex Merrimack (Chain) bridge; engine derailed at bridge embankment; coal packet at dock; schooner "Alliance" at anchor; barge with equipment for setting piers(?); small steam passenger packet; crowd near stagecoach piled high with men in front of a hotel; group of picnickers lounging in a yard; boys behind a snow fort, another view showing boy climbing over fort; man and cow in corner of yard; destruction after mill fire on Inn St.; beach scenery including group on long sandy beach; Atlantic house; Bay View house, plank walk throug the dunes.
