- Views of the Public Garden, Boston: general views showing the layout of the pond, paths, plantings and showing apartments, homes and churches beyond, trolley tracks and wagons on street in foreground; views of the pond including views of the iron bridge that crosses it, white ducks and swans resting at its edge, a swan house, women with baby carriages on path along ponds, rowboats, people sitting on benches in the shade near the pond, the fountain in the lake, and gazebo on penisula, paddle boats, some made to look like swans, some with striped awnings, fountain, gazebo, rustic bench in foreground, swan in lake, bridge beyond; paths in the garden showing flowers, shrubs, topiary; the Washington Equestrian statue by Thomas Ball, including man in 18th century costume standing in front of it; the Sumner statue by Thomas Ball; the Ether Monument by J.Q.A. Ward; the "Maid of the Mist" or "Venus rising from the sea," some views showing fountain surrounding sculpture on, some off, one view showing pool drained; the Edward Everett statue by Story; the green house from several vantage points; the rustic arbor, showing people on benches, women with baby carriage, sign reading "James King, rustic builder, New Haven, Conn."; flower beds, girl with baby carriage; planter made to look like tree, with coleus (?), ivy and other plants making the foliage; police man sitting at edge of path; many views including men, women and children, in which details of dress are visible.
