Views of the U.S. Capitol: dome under construction and nearly complete, Tiber creek at left (from Smithsonian?); with Tiber creek in foreground; from the west, with grounds, botanic gardens, naval monument, in foreground; views of the east front including a view showing dark bunting draping columns, scaffolding on steps, a horse trolley out front, senate steps, house side of building; sculpture: Columbus and War (Persico), "Civilization" (Greenough); Statuary Hall: Vermont's Col. Ethan Allen (Lukin G. Mead) and Franzoni's "historical clock"; Lincoln (Ream) in the rotunda, with Trumbull's paintings in the background; Rogers' bronze door; Brumidi's painting in the dome, including a detail of "Commerce"; "Surrender of General Burgoyne at Saratoga" (Trumbull); House and Senate chambers; the Congressional Library; corridors; the chandelier in the President's room; the Marble room; the Speaker's room.
