  • Views of the Civil War: views of camp life including men in front of tents, or "taking it easy," one view showing men piled on each other in a human pyramid, some views show men reading mail from home, dining, getting a haircut, filling a water cart, view showing man with a woman and children in front of a tent, African Americans in some views, including a boy who is polishing a boot. Gen. Grant, and Gen. Rawlins at Cold Harbor, Va., Gen. Burnside and Mathew Brady at the headquarters of the Army of the Potomac near Richmond, Gen. Ferrero and staff on steps of house in Petersburgh, VA., Gen. Sherman and staff in the trenches before Atlanta, Ga., Adm. Dahlgren and staff on the U.S.S. Pawnee in Charleston Harbor, Capt.
