- Originally issued unbound, in 49 folded sheets (bifolia), in paper covers, ivory paper covered portfolio and slipcase; 2 blank leaves, not counted in collation, at beginning and end. The bifolia are folded off-center, so that each consists of one leaf 26 cm. wide and one leaf 30 cm. wide.
- Illustrations: 88 prints (1 on covers) : aquatint, some with etching, b&w, black and monochrome, monochrome, 2 colors ; double-page (1), full-page (38) and image 23 x 27 cm. or smaller (48). Plate marks not discernible. Comprise double-page print on Laga Auvergne paper covers, 45 ill. to the poems and 42 ornamental initials (called "lettrines" in the colophon, which gives total no. of ill. as 87). Printed by the artist and Jean Signovert on the artist's handpress. For discussion, cf. Strachan, p. 116-118.

No. IX of 5 copies (numbered VII to XI) on Montval paper issued with a suite of the prints in black and white and an original drawing.Accompanied by the suite, consisting of the 45 ill. to the poems in b&w state, and by the original drawing, signed in pencil. In Spencer Coll. copy, the drawing (charcoal, depicting an owl) is bound in at beginning and the suite bound in at end.Binding: Dark olive brown crushed levant morocco with inlays of white and several shades of brown box calf, by P.-L. Martin, 1962. Doublures and end leaves of olive brown suede. Original paper covers with double-page print bound in at beginning as 1 folded leaf.
