- Illustrations: 27 prints : woodcut ; full-page (6) and image 12 x 11 cm. or smaller. Comprise arms of the dedicatee François de La Rochefoucauld, medallion port. of the author (diam. image 7 cm.) and 25 cuts illustrating the text. The latter are ascribed to Bernard Salomon; cf. Cartier. Subjects include monuments (e.g. the Colossus of Rhodes, an obelisk, a pyramid) and animals of the Levant (e.g. a wolf hunt and a bear hunt; a lion, wild ass, elephant, camel, crocodile and giraffe).
- Printer's device (on t.p.): 1 print : woodcut ; 42 x 45 mm. One of Tournes' snake devices. Cf. Silvestre. Marques typographiques, 188; introd. by M. Audin to Cartier (v. 1, p. 40 and ill., p. 38: "Vipères sans accessoires").
