- 1,000 copies printed by Heinrich Winterscheidt GmbH, Düsseldorf, of which 100 numbered and 10 lettered "special edition" copies in binding by Christian Zwang included heliogravure prints by Cy Twombly; 90 of these (numbered 16-100 and A-E) issued with 4 heliogravures only.
- Title page, postscript, contents and colophon in English; poems in Spanish.
- Text and lithographs printed on double leaves, heliogravures on single leaves. Two blank double leaves, not counted in collation, follow 1st and 3rd heliogravure, respectively.
- Illustrations: 10 photomechanical prints : offset lithography (reproduction of drawings), col. ; full-page (image 19 x 19 cm.). Reduced reproductions of a series of 10 oil and crayon drawings titled "Gaeta set (for the love of fire and water)," 1981. Printed by Scanner Studio 4034, Düsseldorf. -- 4 photomechanical prints on handmade Richard de Bas laid paper (1 on jacket) : heliogravure, blue (3), red (1) ; double-page (1), full-page (3). Reproductions of handwritten lines of Paz' verse in Twombly's hand; cover print is title in Twombly's hand: Octavio Paz, Cy Twombly. Printed by Till Verclas, Hamburg.
