- Biography
Charles Henry Hart (1847-1918) was a lawyer, art critic and art historian. He served as director of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts from 1885-1904 and was an authority on early American portraits. He chaired the Committee on Retrospective Art for the World's Columbian Exposition.
