Note
  • Names of printers and place and date of printing from colophon (p. 600-613), which gives a detailed account of the printing and publishing history; extensively transcribed, with French translation, in Kévorkian. The printing house was subsequently known as Surb Ējmiatsin ei Surb Sargis Zōravar; cf. p. 610-611. Printing began Dec. 1660; 24 gatherings were complete at the death of Mattʻēos Tsaretsʻi, Jan. 22, 1661; remainder printed by Awetis Ghlijentsʻ Erewantsʻi, Mar. 25-May 27, 1661. Cf. p. 607-610.
  • Errors in paging: nos. 353-362 omitted; nos. 387-388, 389-390 repeated.
  • Signatures: pi1, 1-23⁸ 24¹-28⁸ [superscript chi]28⁸ 29-37⁸ (-37/7,8). Sigs. 1-8 signed in Armenian characters only; remainder signed in Armenian characters and arabic numerals.
  • Illustrations: 98 prints from 96 blocks : woodcut ; full-page. Chiefly by Christoffel II van Sichem, most with monogram CVS; some perhaps by Christoffel I van Sichem, who also used the monogram. Five, also signed with monogram HG, i.e. Hendrik Goltzius, are copies of engravings by Goltzius; cf. Illustrated Bartsch, III/2, 0301.029 C7, .032 C7, .034-.036 C7. Cut on p. 382, with monogram AD, copied from a Dürer cut. Cut on p. [80] repeated on p. [99]; that on p. 391 repeated on p. 392. Many cuts repeated from Biblia sacra (Amsterdam : P.I. Paets, 1646) and other sacred works published by Paets. Blocks apparently acquired from Paets, as many continued to be used in Surb Ējmiatsin imprints (Amsterdam, Livorno, Marseille, Constantinople, 1661-1718). For discussion, cf. Kévorkian, p. 6; Nersessian, p. 28-29; article by Hellmut Lehmann-Haupt in Gutenberg-Jahrbuch (1975), p. 274-304.
  • Ornaments: Woodcut t.p. border, used (with variants) in several Paets imprints, e.g. Bibels tresoor, ofte, Der zielen lusthof (1646); numerous metalcut ornamental initials and marginal decorations in the tradition of Armenian mss. (cf. Kévorkian, p. 6); type flower ornaments, tailpieces, etc.
