- Albert Tracy (1818-1893) joined the Army as a lieutenant in the 9th Infantry during the Mexican War, served as Adjutant General of Maine, 1852-1855, returned to the Army's 10th Infantry and participated in an expedition against the Sioux from Fort Snelling, Minnesota, the Mormon expedition, and the Civil War, during which he was made a colonel and aide-de-camp to Gen. John C. Frémont.
