- Banquets and luncheons given in honor of various persons and organizations, including Young Men's Philanthropic League (1923), a party at the A.E.A. Annual Convention given by manufacturers, (1923), the Society of Restauranteurs (1924), the Royal Order of Ramblers (1927), the Chiselers Club of the Port of New York, Inc. (1934), Venison Dinner "tendered" by Walter Mangel, Luchow's Restaurant, small music ensemble in rear (1936), U.N. Delegates (1946), the Quarter Century Club of the Consolidated Telegraph and Electrical Subway Company (1938-1955, 1960), dinners for Howard Mallen (1937), and Major General Norman T. Kirk, Surgeon General, U.S. Army given by Caduceus Post #818, A[merican] L[egion] (1947), luncheons for J. Buckley (1947), and Edward S. Callahan, (1948). Events were held in hotels in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Chicago, and in the N.Y.A.C (New York Athletic Club), Downtown A.C. (Downtown Athletic Club), and the Lyric Theatre. The image of the Royal Order of Ramblers had posted on a banner the motto "Eat Drink and be Merry, for tomorrow there may be a law against it," and glasses and pitchers of beer in evidence.
