- Milton P. Webster discusses the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters' wage increases and union shop law. He talks about the porters lack of organization, the Pullman Company's plan of employee representation, the organization of the Brotherhood, and the possibility of future pay raises and their economic implications. Webster also warns that the railroad companies are getting tighter fisted and future pay raises will be harder to come by. Last of all, he explains the union shop law.
