- Summary
- In a final session of an Organization of Colored Locomotive Firemen, Switchmen and Brakemen conference, Hold the Fort is sung followed by a discussion of problems in the local districts. Lengthy grievances are given by Brothers Randolph, Daniels, Bates, Harrington, Mitchell, Caine and others. They express issues with the Brotherhood of Locomotive Enginemen and Firemen, train masters, and between brakemen and switchmen. A. Philip Randolph tells them they need to keep their facts and details straight when making reports of train masters or officials taking advantage of Colored firemen. The facts have to be stated and known if it is to constitute an actual case.
